Our office will be closed this Thursday July 4th and Friday July 5th in observance of Independence Day. We will return to the office on Monday July 8th. Have a safe and happy 4th of July weekend!

Every year since 1963, the President of the United States has issued a proclamation announcing National Small Business Week, which recognizes the critical contributions of America’s entrepreneurs and small business owners.
More than half of Americans either own or work for a small business, and they create about two out of every three new jobs in the U.S. each year.
In commemoration of National Small Business Week, Quickie Tie-Down will be posting a series of facts affecting small businesses each day on our social media accounts. Please see www.facebook.com/quickietiedown, www.facebook.com/quickietiedownenterprises, and www.twitter.com/quickietiedown to see these postings.
Toyota Cruisers & Trucks Magazine (TCT Magazine) just published a review of the 1/4″ Loadmaster Ratcheting Rope Tie-Down in their April 2015 issue (pgs 78-79)! Despite ice and cold temperatures, the tie-downs used in field testing performed exactly as they should under any kind of weather conditions. With that kind of reliability, “Anyone Can Use A Quickie!” http://www.magcloud.com/webviewer/908959
Our first show of 2015 was the AHR Expo in Chicago. This was our first time attending the HVAC show, and we’re so glad that we did. This year’s show broke 5 different records for attendance and space and was the most attended show in Chicago history. We had a great time meeting with all the exhibitors and attendees. Inexplicably, we were the only tie-down company in attendance! We were glad to be one of the 2,100 exhibitors present and are already looking forward to next year’s show in Orlando! For more information on the AHR show, see our posts on www.facebook.com/quickietiedownenterprises, www.facebook.com/quickietiedown, www.twitter.com/quickietiedown, or search hashtag #ahrexpo. http://contractormag.com/ahr/ahr-2015-was-truly-huge-chicago-event-sets-multiple-records?utm_content=buffer829c0&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer
It looks like 2015 is going to be known as The Year Of The Tradeshow. We have several shows lined up throughout the country. Please stop by and see us if you can. We will update this post as more information is added or becomes available.

I can hardly believe that it’s only been a month since November’s annual SEMA Show. The Specialty Equipment Market Association trade show is the largest in Las Vegas and attracts thousands of exhibitors and buyers each year. Quickie Tie-Down had a booth on the second floor of the South Hall, which is our usual spot.
Countless celebrities come to the show including R. Lee “Gunny” Ermey, Danica Patrick, Jeff Gordon, Richard Petty, and a few members of the Robertson family (Duck Dynasty). My favorite moment was meeting R. Lee “Gunny” Ermey. He was so kind to be at the show all 4 days and to spend a few minutes with each person who came to see him. I showed him our brand new Quickie Loadmaster 3/8″ Ratcheting Rope Tie-Down, and he loved it! He said, “These will be great for my motorcycle!” We couldn’t agree more.
At the show I was impressed to see buyers from all over the world coming to this event. I made a game out of trying to spot as many different countries represented as possible. I saw the United States, Canada, Mexico, The Philippines, Japan, Germany, Italy, Brazil, China, and India. Some people spoke English, some had translators, and some did not.
I had a memorable experience with a gentleman from Brazil. He was looking at our rotating display of tie-downs, and I asked him if he needed help. He was alone and spoke to me in broken English that he is from Brazil and doesn’t speak English. I do not speak Portuguese, but I do speak limited Spanish. We were able to break the language barrier and communicate somewhat effectively. He seemed very happy that I made the effort to speak with him. I don’t know if I made his day, but he certainly made mine.
Another highlight was being interviewed live on the radio! Dan Longenette interviewed Kenny on Street Rod & Custom Radio which airs on Saturday nights. The full broadcast can be found here http://www.ernlive.com/show/street-rod-custom-radio/135/episodes/sema-coverage-pt-2-full-show-94
Unfortunately, SEMA is not open to the public, but there are numerous Facebook and Twitter posts about the show.
